        My name is Donavan Andrew Brown.
        I am an absolute fitness fanatic!  I like to play, push, pull, kite, surf, pedal, skate, swing, press, roll, lift, hang, climb, sit, stand, crawl, swim, row, fight and sometimes even run, jump & dance.  I am an avid Yogi, two-time NCAA national football champion, USA Today High School Football All-American, Indo Board Certified, NAGA competitor, USGSF Russian Kettlebell Instructor, Body for Life Success Coach, Balanced Body Pilates student, TRX Specialist, and Certified Fitness Trainer.  

        After graduating from the pre-med/health program at the University of Northern Colorado, and leaving behind a successful athletic career, I ventured to Southern California to pursue my passion for physique augmentation at the world famous Gold’s Gym Venice Beach, CA.  Instantly falling in love with board sports and the “SoCal lifestyle”, I pulled myself out of the gym, and on to every type of board I could find.  Surf, snow, skate, wake, you name it.  Not long afterward I also jumped into the MMA scene where I meet and began training with UFC veteran Brandon Vera, whom first introduced me to the TRX Suspension Trainer.

        While preparing my body for the rigors of martial arts, and the complexity of my new found appreciation for Eddie Bravo's Rubber Guard Jiu-Jitsu system, the TRX became an invaluable component to my fitness education and movement awareness training.  The TRX became the fountainhead and a metaphor that not only embraced my foundation in Iyengar alignment based Kurunta Yoga, but also sparked my interest in a unique form of suspension training, that would allow me to play my board sport of choice, by harnessing the power of wind.  

        I soon began exploring multiple training modalities that encompassed the mind body awareness phenomenon I saw sweeping the country.  Moving part of my functional fitness studio into the domain of personal friend and coach, 2011 Girevoy "kettlebell" Sport World Champion, kettlebell instructor Dmitri Sataev, and embracing the Balanced Bodies Pilates University studies, were just a few of the major steps I undertook toward mastering my own personal fitness quest and progressing my movement education system. 

        Quick History: After suffering a broken ankle from skateboarding, knee injuries from Jiu-Jitsu and wakeboarding, while simultaneously battling a plethora of injuries, skeletal and muscular imbalances, remaining from the football days, and years of stagnation in front of computers.  I put together a unique, integrated movement education system, which I feel will benefit the advanced athlete, weekend warrior, or any person looking to improve their performance, health, and fitness.  The system includes an eclectic combination of exercise modalities inspired by Iyengar Yoga, TRX movement education, Mixed Martial Arts, Performing Arts, Pilates Contrology, Indo Board Balance Performance, Team Sports, Russian Kettlebell Sport, Rehabilitation, and Injury Prevention.

        I teach my method weekly, at Zendiego Fitness, inside the California Health & Fitness Center and Russian Kettlebell Academy; which overlooks the beautiful San Diego bay.  The center offers inexpensive memberships that give you access to old school functionality and new school technology, as well as an indoor/outdoor pool, steam room, sauna "Russian Banya", and 15hp jacuzzi.  You can purchase small group classes or customized 1 on 1 coaching.  I value commitment, and reward my students with major discounts on volume purchases.  If you feel you can't afford to make life changing steps towards your health and fitness, please don't be afraid to contact me to discuss your options.
